wat do u think ur table manners reflect bout u as a person? i was brought up in a middle class family, nevertheless table manners was never taken lightly. u think u're refined? or d least to say, civilized? i thnk d way u eat will answer this.
right now im jus feeling disturbed over an incident at lunch. normally at my lunch table, der are two types of diners. type A's are normally contented with wat they have on their plate, because if they feel like eating anything, they'd jus take some fr d food line up. type B are d strays and watever is on other people's plate tend to tempt them. r u familiar with these types?
d way i look at my plate of food, it's very much personal, like your personal space so u wudn't want anyone intruding into your personal space, wud u? its not bout d money, really. its dat disturbing behaviour which wud irk me every single time it happens be it to me or anyone else around me. how wud u like your plate being stared at, like it's being preyed on? wat makes u feel watever isn't on your plate is more inviting? when d main point is, your intrusion on other people's plate isn't welcomed at all.
back wen i was in primary school, i remember der were kids who'd ask for people's food; watever they cud get from other people's lunch box. fine, tu zaman budak2 so x reti bahasa la kot (kan?). wen u're a mother and still doing dat which has made me blive it is in fact habitual, it's clearly not right. if i cud say sumtin bout tis, i'd tell dat person:
1) pls limit urself to your plate ONLY
2) stop staring at my food
3) if its jus irresistable, pls dun eat at my table
occasionally you'd offer d people you eat with some of your food; sometimes its a new menu, or you feel ur food is something worth sharing with other people. dats fine, and it only stops at dat.
