yesterday was all okay despite being my first menstrual day, d bugging pain was eaten up by the pain killer and i managed to get through work with much ease. instead of my bf, my dad picked me up from work and we grabbed dinner otw home at a nearby satay shop. by the time we got home, it was half past 6.
the norm whenever i reach home is to take off my shoes, put my handbag down on the couch and taking off my watch and putting it on the cabinet near the stairs. reason being so i wont forget to put it on again when i come down from my room for work the next day, which is normally very convenient for me.
so yesterday, after taking off my shoes, and putting down my handbag, i put down my watch on the counter and as i went down the split level stairs, my hand accidentally pulled my watched together with me and then, it had a great fall! i was so shocked i didnt pick it up immediately, because by the look of it, with the face facing flat down, the worst had happened. i knew there'd be something wrong with the watch, and as i picked them up, i had anticipated the watch to have broken and indeed i was right. the glass face was badly cracked.
at first i wasn't sure if i should be sad considering it has only been with me for a year but since i didnt want to think of it, i put it aside and put my dinner together instead. my nightly routine was completed by a shower and i went down to watch Glee and took a good look at my watch again. only then i realized i'm a lil broken too inside because i love that watch. for a year, i've worn it on every single day to work and casual weekend outings and now its badly broken.
i've decided to take it to the "watch doctor" later after work, hoping the glass face can be replaced. even if it can be done, it'll never be the same; the quality of the glass can never be as good because despite the great fall, the glass is only broken on the inside, even the shattered part is on the inside i could barely feel anything by running my fingers on the face. never tot i'd feel this way about something but it's fated. and i've come to terms with it. i think.
